Thor's owner in Sao Paulo, Brazil, found the dog impaled on hundreds of quills. Hundreds of yellow quills covered the golden brown dog's muzzle, forehead, nose, ears, and legs, as seen in the photographs.

When Adriano Bertoline, an unemployed man, was unable to pay a vet bill, he started an internet treatment campaign.

Dr. Jose Roberto Apolari, a local councilman, stepped in to help, driving Thor to the hospital and helping with the costs.

Three-year-old Thor is rumored to have engaged in battle with a porcupine for the second time in a year, suffering horrible injuries.

After discovering Thor impaled with porcupine quills, Bertoline put out a call on the internet for assistance in getting him treated.

Good morning, everyone," he tweeted. My dog was in this condition when I got up this morning. Is there a hospital or vet who can help him? I'm afraid I can't afford it.

Dr. Jose Roberto Apolari, a councilor, observed the dog owner's request and made the decision to help.

Adriano wrote on Facebook, "Dr. Apolari was an angel in my dog's life since I couldn't afford a private veterinarian." I currently don't have a job, and I have four kids at home.

Adriano claims that the councilman brought the dog to the vet, helped with the costs, and then brought Thor back to his house.

This is the dog's second brush with a porcupine in a year, according to Thor's owner.

Adriano's friend, who was then employed by a private veterinarian clinic, helped the injured dog in February 2021.

After being assaulted by the dog, the porcupine's condition wasn't immediately known.
