Officer Saves Freezing Dog Struggling To Survive, But That's Not Even The Best Part Of The Rescue

A woman who witnessed the incredible rescue of a stray dog on television has decided to give him a permanent home after he almost drowned in Lake Michigan's frigid waters.

A bystander noticed the white dog, who was now given the name Michigan, was fighting for his life when he slid through the ice onto the lake. When she called the police, they arrived on the scene swiftly to save the dog.

At the Wisconsin Humane Society, Michigan battled hypothermia as they looked for his owners.

Because it was evident that Michigan's prior owners were not stepping forward to claim him, his narrative led to a large number of people applying to adopt him.

Brenda Thompson was chosen as Michigan's new mother by the Wisconsin Humane Society following an examination of hundreds of applicants. Brenda claimed that she went straight to the shelter after seeing him in the news.

"I quickly changed into some clothes and headed over here. Since I saw that tale, I've been here pretty much every day," she said to TMJ4.

Now that she's given him formal adoption, she intends to ensure a happy beginning for them.

Brenda says, "I'm going to take him for a nice, long walk as my first action." "He has his bed made up." Brand-new toys and bowls are waiting for him. He is ready to depart. This seems like the start of a wonderful friendship.

After Hurricane Katrina, Brenda acquired a black Lab, who will also have a sibling in Michigan.

See Brenda arrive to retrieve Michigan from the shelter, then tell your friends and family about his happy ending!
